There are easy ways to include much of the Mediterranean goodness in your Thanksgiving feast this year! For example those who make their own stuffing or those who choose box stuffing try using some of our extra virgin olive oil as instead of butter in recipe. It's easy to substitute extra-virgin olive oil for the butter in just about any recipe.
Appetizers. The Veleta Small Sardines are a perfect appetizer for your hungry guests when that turkey is not quite ready to exit the oven. Arrange on a small dish and garnish with a Dijon mustard and a sprig of parsley, serve with crackers and you're good to go
Salad dressing! Start with heating 1/2 cup of Veleta extra-virgin olive oil, sauté two or three cloves of garlic sliced thick until their toasted brown, place in a glass measuring cup, add 1 tbsp honey, then add about 1/4 cup of sherry vinegar to the olive oil, garlic and honey. Blend well, dress your favorite greens and fresh veggies and finally add salt and pepper to taste!
Salad! Why stop at the dressing? Add a can of Veleta White Tuna on top of you fresh green salad and you are really talking Spain!
The bird!!! Instead of smothering and slathering the turkey with tons of butter on the outside try making a blend of Veleta extra-virgin olive oil, salt, pepper and some of your favorite herbs. Use that as your rub on the outside of the turkey. Or perhaps if you like to brine your bird...when you make your brine add a little Veleta extra virgin olive oil to your mix, blend well and use it with an injector; it will improve the juiciness of the turkey throughout.
Green beans, sauté a couple cloves of garlic sliced thick in extra-virgin olive oil and set aside. Add the green beans to your saute pot and then pour the extra virgin olive oil and garlic over the top along with salt and pepper cook as usual.
